Manfred von Nordheim serves Senior Advisor
to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. He previously
served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of EADS
North America and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
EADS, Inc., formed in July 2000 through the merger of Aerospatiale
Matra of France, DaimlerChrysler Aerospace of Germany, and
Construcciones Aeronauticas of Spain.
Before the creation of EADS, von Nordheim
was President of DaimlerChrysler Aerospace of North America,
Inc.
Other highlights of his career in Washington
include serving as Washington Representative (1984-1986) and
later President (1986-1991) of MBB (Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm)
of America and Director of the Washington research office
of the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation (1977-1981). Von Nordheim
has also worked with several Washington-based think tanks
and consultancies active in transatlantic defense relations.
Von Nordheim holds a graduate degree
from the Freie Universität Berlin, a Master of Arts in
political science from Kent State University, Ohio, and a
Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He
is married and the father of three children.
