Wolfgang Jakubek has led Deutsche Telekom’s
Washington DC Office since the summer of 2001, advocating
the company’s position as a major foreign telecom investor
in the US with respect to regulatory, legal and public policy
issues.
Mr. Jakubek was an active participant
in Deutsche Telekom’s early international activities,
both in the Asia/Pacific region and in North America. He contributed
to the establishment of numerous affiliates, business units
and country offices, e.g. in Tokyo, Singapore, New Delhi,
Beijing, New York and Washington. He also led major M&A
projects in India, Indonesia, Philippines, the United States,
Columbia, Chile, Mexico and Brazil.
Mr. Jakubek holds a law degree from the
University of Freiburg in Germany and practiced international
law before joining Deutsche Telekom.
He is affiliated with many different
Washington organizations and serves- amongst others - as a
member of the Business Advisory Councel to the Congressional
Study Group on Germany; Member of the Board of the European
American Business Councel (EABC); and as Vice President of
the German American Business Councel (GABC).
He lives with his family in McLean, Virginia.
