Sabine Hammermann is the Director Sales Southeast USA for
Lufthansa German Airlines and Austrian Airlines. Based in
Washington, D.C. she oversees all sales, marketing and corporate
business development across a region spanning from Maryland
to Florida as well as Puerto Rico.
Sabine Hammermann joined Lufthansa in
1978 in Frankfurt, Germany and since then held various positions
in Sales and Marketing. Over the last years Ms. Hammermann
was asked to create and head up various projects in the head
office of Lufthansa in Frankfurt, Germany, in Dresden, Germany
and in New York. Each one mandated to build revenue, build
customer loyalty and negotiate expansion in the face of on-going
airline industry challenges.
Prior to her moving to Washington,
D.C. she served as Managing Director of Lufthansa’s North American Service Center
in Peterborough, Canada. There a group of 200 Customer
Service Representatives handled more than 2.5 Mio calls per
year from Lufthansa’s and Austrian Airlines passengers,
frequent flyers and travel agencies in the U.S. and Canada.
Lufthansa is one of the world’s largest and most prestigious
airlines and currently flies to 197 destinations in 85 countries,
with hubs in Frankfurt, Munich. With its recent acquisition
of Austrian Airlines and SWISS – the hubs Vienna and
Zurich were added to the network.
From its 22 North American gateways,
Lufthansa serves over 400 destinations in more than 100 countries.
An industry innovator, the airline has long been committed
to environmental care and sustainability, operating the most
technically-advanced and fuel-efficient fleet in the world.
Its long-haul fleet to and from North America includes the
Boeing 747-400, as well as the Airbus A340-600, A340-300
and A330-300. It will be the largest European operator of
the A380 and is also the launch customer for the new Boeing
747-8, the industries’ two
most fuel-efficient passenger aircraft. Known for its premium
services, Lufthansa is currently investing $190 million in
building new or upgraded lounge facilities across its worldwide
